Lucidity have been in business for over 20 years running our own infrastructure as a service and hosted desktop platform in New Zealand.
On our journey, we’ve hosted a large range of Microsoft solutions to our broad customer base in New Zealand including, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange, Skype for Business.
In 2023, Lucidity are all in with Microsoft Azure. We’ve migrated all our customer workloads in to the public cloud, freeing our engineers up to focus on modern secure customer solutions, not failing hardware and 3am call outs to datacenters.

Lucidity's 20+ Year Journey
- Lucidity started in 2002 with its founders Jarred Hogan and Paul O’Brien building a Citrix V1.0 hosted environment on Windows 2000 to deliver complex travel applications to the NZ Travel industry.
- For over 20 years, we’ve specialised in running hardware platforms, server and remote desktop environments across hundreds of different applications and industries.
- In 2020 we made the decision to end running our own hardware platforms and go ‘all-in’ with public cloud – Lucidity migrated 50+ remote desktop customers to Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Microsoft Intune.
- We became Platinum Partner with Nerdio and got our entire senior engineering team certified on how to deploy and manage AVD environments, then spent 18 months migrating customers and winding down our legacy multi Data Centre hardware platform.
- At the end of 2022, Lucidity turned off all our own physical servers we had been running for 20 years – Lucidity now run’s fully from the Azure cloud. Our team sleep soundly at night 🙂 #NoMoreHardDrives
